Acoustic Rolls are primarily designed for use in walls, floors and partition walls, and are an effective means of reducing noise pollution and minimising both airborne and impact vibrations. Insulation rolls are easy to install and have a flexible acoustic insulation solution. Often they provide some thermal insulation too. We stock a variety of leading brands, including Knauf and Isover. 

Benefits of acoustic insulation

Acoustic insulation is extremely useful for trapping and absorbing sound. It tightens the building too by covering any small gaps that allow cold air in and heat to escape. It can help to cut down heating and cooling costs, in the same way that thermal insulation does. 

 
Which is better, insulation board or roll?

Choosing between insulation board or insulation roll depends on the type of insulation you’re looking for, ie wall insulation or perhaps loft insulation and whether or not there are obstacles in the path of where you want to insulate. Roll insulation is often used for lofts, or areas where there might be plug sockets, wires and joists that would make boards difficult to place. Acoustic roll is also a great option for placing over previously installed insulation as a top-up or added acoustic protection. 

How much does 1 roll of insulation cover?

At Insulation Express we sell different thicknesses of acoustic roll that range from just over 10m in length to 22.5m. So you can choose the best size for your project. 

What type of insulation is best for walls?

Wall insulation is a great way to minimise noise. It can be used in internal stud walls in shared properties to limit the sound passing through and also for the separating floors and walls of blocks of flats or any building with noisy areas. 

 
Can I insulate walls myself?

Yes, you can insulate walls yourself as mineral wool or fiberglass is fairly easy to install as a DIY project. If you have any doubts however or if you are using another method such as spray foam, then you are best off hiring a professional to ensure it is done to a high standard and safely.
