Superglass are an independent manufacturer of glass mineral wool, offering thermal and acoustic insulation solutions. They invest in the latest manufacturing technology to provide a superior quality product and work innovatively to meet the ever-changing regulations and environmental pressures.
Superglass saves energy not just in its use but in its manufacture as well, making it a sustainable product. It’s made from up to 84% recycled glass too, reduces waste disposal and saves valuable resources, which gives Superglass insulation products a generic BRE Green Guide rating of A+.
Here you can find their loft & acoustic insulation rolls.
Benefits of Superglass
- Can be used for both thermal and acoustic insulation.
- Non-combustible and has the highest rating for fire reaction.

- Leading edge manufacturing process.
What is Superglass?
Superglass are a manufacturer of glass mineral wool, with a range of products suited to loft, pitched roof, floor and wall insulation, including metal and timber structures and park homes and caravans.
What is Superglass made of?
Superglass is made by heating recycled glass to a very high temperature. It is then spun into thin fibres once melted and those fibres are bound together, locking air into the gaps between the fibres.
Although air can still get into the mineral wool, the route through the insulation is so complex that air finds it difficult to pass from one side to the other, preventing the convection of heat.
At Superglass, they are continually working to advance glass wool science. They have a new state-of-the-art furnace and advanced processing equipment, which help them to manufacture insulation that looks and smells better and, also provides very efficient thermal protection.
Superglass products are all made from post-consumer waste, which would otherwise be diverted to landfill. The aqueous waste and fibre waste from the manufacturing process are both recycled to prevent going to sewer or landfill and advances in the melting process mean that they use less energy in production. Superglass products are compress-packed to around one-ninth of their original volume, reducing transport costs and the amount of packaging.
Is Superglass good insulation?
Classified as A1 non-combustible, which is the highest possible rating, Superglass is a very high-quality product with leading THINKTECH that is able able to meet ever-more testing demands easily. THINKTECH is more than a new ingredient. It’s a whole approach with improved production technology and new fibre science.
Is glass wool insulation breathable?
Yes, Superglass mineral wool insulation is breathable, which helps to reduce the risk of condensation inside the building.
Which types of Superglass insulation are available at Insulation Express?
At Insulation Express, you’ll find two main types of Superglass insulation: Acoustic partition roll and Multi roll loft insulation.
Superglass Acoustic Partition Roll (APR) is a lightweight, non-combustible glass mineral wool insulation roll. The flexible roll is supplied at 1200mm and 2x600mm widths to allow easy installation between common stud spacings and minimum on-site cutting and waste.
Superglass Party Wall Roll is designed to provide thermal and acoustic insulation and help provide a zero u-value within masonry party or separating walls.
Superglass Multi-Roll 44 is lightweight, non-combustible glass mineral wool insulation roll. The flexible roll is perforated at 2x570mm & 3x380mm to allow easy installation between common joist spacings and minimum on-site cutting and waste. It’s mainly used to provide thermal and acoustic insulation in lofts/cold roofs. However, it can be used in a number of other applications where a lightweight glass mineral wool product is required.
