What is Armacell made of?
Armacell products, specifically the Armaflex range, are made out of nitrile foam, often using recycled materials. Nitrile foam is closed cell, offering excellent acoustic and thermal performance, making it a great choice as an insulation material.
What is Armaflex?
Armaflex is a specialist type of pipe insulation created by the leading manufacturer Armacell. Because it’s made from closed-cell foam insulation, Armflex insulation can be installed on mechanical piping systems to offer superior thermal insulation. Because the foam has anti-microbial protection, it prevents moisture from building up and forming mould.
Does Armaflex absorb sound?
The type of foam used to create Armaflex products is well-known for its sound-reducing properties. When used to insulate pipes, Armaflex can successfully reduce the sound of water running through the pipes.
What types of Armacell products are available at Insulation Express?
At Insulation Express, we stock a range of Armacell products, including the popular Armaflex Class 0 Pipe Insulation. As well as the standard option, we also stock the Armaflex Class O Self-Seal option too. Designed to make installation around existing pipework even easier, the insulation features an adhesive strip, so there’s no need for cutting and glueing.
Outside of the Armaflex product range, we also stock the Armacell Tubolit DG Tube pipe insulation. Suitable for use on pipes in heating systems and hot and cold water pipes, this easy-to-install closed-cell polyethylene insulation can reduce energy loss by up to 80%!
